Intensive FCAW is offered over 5 days (9-4pm/30hours) and is a steppingstone from intermediate level or for those individuals who are confident and proficient in basic welding techniques looking to accelerate their skills to the next level in FCAW.

Course Details:

• A 60-minute knowledge session covering welding imperfections, NDT & DT methods
• Workshop induction
• Setup of welding machine and related equipment
• 8mm & 10mm Carbon steel plate
  • Course outcome 1: multi run tee fillet in the PB position
  • Course outcome 2: multi run open corner in the PA position
  • Course outcome 3: multi run open corner in the PA position
  • Course outcome 4: multi run tee fillet in the PD position
  • Course outcome 5: multi run tee fillet in the PF position
  • Course outcome:6 plate butt in the PF position
  • Course outcome 7: plate butt in the PC position

• Welds are visually checked and tested against BS EN 4872-1
• In-house certificate awarded upon successful completion of the program
• Progression onto another intensive welding course for an alternative process
